The British School in Tokyo is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English teacher for Years 7–13, starting January 2027. The successful candidate will teach the school’s internally designed Key Stage 3 curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature, and IB English A at Standard and Higher Level.
The role also includes serving as a tutor and contributing to BST Explore and extracurricular programmes. Applicants should use effective, research-informed teaching strategies, demonstrate strong subject knowledge, and be confident teaching mixed-ability classes. The appointment is subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS or International Child Protection Check and satisfactory background checks for previous countries of residence.
