Job Description

1)For non-Japanese applicants:

a) Native-level English proficiency
b) Meet at least one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree from an English-speaking country
Bachelor’s degree in English or English education
10+ years of education conducted in English
3+ years and a total of 500+ hours of ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching experience

3) For residents in Japan: hold an eligible residence status.

Eligible statuses: Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services, Permanent Resident, Long-Term Resident, Spouse of Japanese National, Spouse of Permanent Resident. Other statuses may be considered subject to conditions. Visa sponsorship is not available.

For Japanese nationals (must meet both):

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (or higher)
English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC (R) L&R 800+ or EIKEN (R) Pre-1 (approx. C1 level)

For applicants residing outside Japan:

Must hold a valid Japanese residence status that permits engagement in this work.
Must have a Japanese bank account for receiving compensation payments.

As an AEON Online Lesson instructor, you will meet learners from all walks of life, from business professionals preparing for international opportunities to adults learning English for travel, study, or personal growth. Through one-on-one online lessons, you will play a meaningful role in helping students take the next step on their English learning journey.

After signing the outsourcing contract, we provide onboarding workshops and demo lessons to help you become familiar with our lesson materials and teaching approach before beginning your schedule.

Benefits

Compensation (estimated): From ¥1,800 per hour

*Lessons: ¥900 (tax included) per 25-minute lesson slot

*Please note that compensation is not paid on an hourly basis. Earnings are determined based on the number of lessons taught.

Workshops with mock lesson: ¥5,500 (tax included) flat payment

*Workshops are provided to learn teaching content; participation is recommended for inexperienced instructors. Workshops are conducted online.

* Takes 90–120 minutes including one or two mock lessons with the instructor
