GEMS School of Research and Innovation is seeking an experienced School Counsellor to support students from FS1 through Year 13. The position begins on 26 August 2026.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide confidential individual and group counselling for academic, social and emotional needs.
• Contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives, workshops and awareness programmes.
• Work with teachers to embed resilience, emotional intelligence and healthy coping strategies.
• Identify students requiring additional support and collaborate with pastoral, inclusion and external professionals.
• Engage parents and maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records.
• Support career and university guidance activities when required.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology or a related field; a master’s is preferred.
• At least four years of counselling experience in an international-school setting.
• Experience supporting students aged 3–18.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and student-wellbeing frameworks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
