Job Description

Buddy & Columbia International School is hiring native English-speaking teachers for its preschool and kindergarten programs. Positions may be based at campuses in Setagaya, Ariake, Koto, Kachidoki, Kaihin Makuhari or Center Minami.

Responsibilities:
• Teach English or physical education to children aged 2–7.
• Develop and update curriculum.
• Teach classes and respond to students’ needs.
• Communicate with parents.
• Plan and manage school events.
• Welcome and dismiss students before and after classes.
• Participate in field trips, camps, sports days and seasonal events.

Requirements:
• Native-level English and all primary, secondary and university education completed in English.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least three years of relevant teaching or coaching experience with children aged 2–7.
• Valid Japanese residence card and work-authorized visa.
• Must currently reside in Japan.
• Japanese is not required, but is an advantage.

Benefits

• Monthly salary of ¥250,000–¥300,000 depending on role, qualifications and experience.
• Minimum ¥280,000 for English teachers with at least three years of preschool experience in Japan.
• Monthly teaching-license allowance of ¥30,000 for qualifying licenses.
• Perfect-attendance allowance of ¥10,000 per month when requirements are met.
• Transportation reimbursement up to ¥30,000 per month.
• Health insurance, employee pension, employment insurance and workers’ compensation insurance.
• Paid holidays after six months in accordance with Japanese labor law.
• Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end/new-year break and summer break are normally off. Weekend school events receive a substitute day off.
• Visa sponsorship is available.
