The most recently published EPIK pay scale was updated for the Fall 2026 intake. At that time, starting Level 2 salaries generally ranged from approximately KRW 2.2 million to KRW 2.35 million per month, depending on the office of education. Higher levels reached approximately KRW 2.8 million in some provinces.
EPIK also stated that offices of education were not hiring Level 3 applicants for that intake, meaning applicants needed to qualify for at least Level 2 before signing the final contract. The Spring 2027 scale may change, so candidates should not treat Fall 2026 figures as a final salary promise.
Housing size, location, commute, and condition vary considerably. Provincial placement can also involve multiple schools or longer travel between campuses.
